Hi everyone...I have been very bad about updating LJ over the past year but here goes an update. I'm sure you are all wondering what happened to me right? I was taken over by facebook and got lazy with LJ but now I am back! So whats been going on with me you might ask. The biggest news first I guess...

I AM IN A RELATIONSHIP!!!!! with beatles4ever aka (Traci)

We just 'came out' on Facebook yesterday and no one seems shocked. They all seem to think it was obvious to everyone. I know most people here haven't been around Traci and I since we got together (about 8 months ago) but did anyone here know or think that we were together? From what I gather Traci and I weren't very stealth at Dragon*Con and many people noticed us doing things that a couple would do (holding hands, etc.) and assumed we were a couple then. Did anyone here see any of that...Rain?

In other news I am still trying to finish school but student loans are butt heads. I had an awful case of mono at the end of 2008 which I never want to repeat! I loved New York!!!! I can't wait to go back and live there one day soon.

Alright this is the third time I have tried to post this. I am doing a Poetry Project in English Class. We were given one word and had to write three poems that use the word. My word was longing. The other part was that we had to post one poem somewhere on the internet for our grade to count. So I am posting one here. It is behind a cut, you can either read it or not it's up to you, I wouldn't be posting if it was dependent on my grade.

Well after going over it again and again there is simply no way I can afford to go to both Portus and New York. As much as I love Harry Potter (and I do) I have been to two Harry Potter cons in the last two year (Lumos and Phoenix Rising) and as much as I would love to go to another RENT is more important to me. So bye bye Portes, hello New York!

I am really excited about New York, I have never been before so it will be fantastic! I am really looking forward to seeing as much Broadway as I can fit in (maybe even see RENT more then once). I think the trip will be really great. My friend beatles4ever and I are going the second week in may so that hopefully the weather will be a little warmer (if weather wasn't and issue I would want to leave NOW!...LOL). We will be staying for six nights to get as much of the city in as possible during our stay.

Any advices on things to check out or avoid from my f-list peps who live in NY.

I just got off the phone and I was informed that RENT (which I am slightly obsessed with) is closing forever on June 1st 2008. I am depressed, now I have to scramble and find a why to go to New York, and see the show. I have never been to New York so I look forward to going the only small, tiny problem is making my money for Portus stretch to cover another trip as well. I will do whatever I must do to go, as I have never seen it live before (I listen to the soundtrack just about everyday and it feeds my obsession as well as the movie). Now just trying to find the best time to go and getting the money are the only things left to do. I am still in shock that it is closing.

*Waves to all the New Yorkers on my f-list, since I will be up there soonish*

I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone that came to my birthday party. I had so much fun. I thought all the games were lots of fun (since it was my birthday party I guess that's what mattered most, right?) and I especially enjoyed playing Apples to Apples and ImaginIf.




Side Note***I do love cards and think they are wonderful but a simple card can make me very emotional and I don't like reading them in public. So when I opened them at the party I just glanced quickly at them. I did read all of them as soon as I got home. That way when I laughed and cried (which I did both many times reading them!) no one can see my reaction. I am just a sentimental sap but I don't want to admit it! :)

OH yes, I got a video camera for christmas so I can make a video diary of the next year of AtlantaHP, Portus, and Dragon*Con! :)

My friend and I are working on a Harry Potter version of Family Feud for our HP group's January Party. Remember how that game had questions (like 'Name a musician who goes by one name' or 'Name a unit of currency used in a country other than the US.') where 100 people were surveyed and they put the top answers on the board, and the teams had to try to a guess the answers. We are trying to survey 100 HP fans to get our game's top answers. We have surveyed 63 HP fans so far, but we need 37 more.
